The Brown Rice Activation (or GABA Brown Setting) refers not to a different variety of brown rice, but rather, a relatively new discovered way of cooking it in order to reap the health benefits that is believed to be the outcome. The GABA Brown Setting activates brown rice by keeping the temperature inside the pan at about 104°F for 2 hours. Throughout this process, GABA (shorter for gamma-aminobutyric acid) is increased up to 1.5 times as much as that contained in non-activated brown rice and is said to lower blood pressure, improve kidney function, and relieve stress.
The model also comes with the Jasmine White setting, a function that sets the cooking flow precisely to accommodate Jasmine rice grains which cook differently when compared with short or medium grain white rice and results with flavorful Jasmine rice.
