In the 1970's, a slim version of the round Tsuki Usagi pot was introduced as a drip pot. This slim pot has been loved for about 50 years, and now has many fans in Europe, Scandinavia, and America. The slim pots are produced by Japanese craftsmen who are very particular about the shape of the spout and the coating, which require special techniques and handwork. The soft form of the body and spout is formed by the curves of the iron base, which is made of about 22 parts joined together, and the textutre of the mellow glassy glaze that is baked at high temperatures. Enameled products have a natural antibacterial effect and are said to prevent oxidation and chemical changes.
